JIPS is a bi-annual, student-edited, double-blind peer reviewed academic journal published under the aegis of National Law University, Jodhpur (ISSN 2583-5297).

If you research and write on intellectual property law, this is a strong, fully open-access platform to get your work cited and read. There are no submission or publication charges.

About the journal

Founded in 2017, JIPS publishes scholarship on contemporary developments in intellectual property law and related fields. Every submission goes through a double-blind peer review conducted by a Board of Peer Reviewers, guided by faculty editors and assisted by the student editorial team. All accepted pieces are published online on an open-access basis, free for anyone to read and cite.

Scope and themes

Manuscripts must pertain to the field of intellectual property law, or to related fields such as media and technology law.

Formatting and submission guidelines

Before you submit, read the journal's submission guidelines carefully. Key requirements:

  • Citation style: The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th edition). Speaking footnotes are permitted.
  • Anonymity: The body of the manuscript must not contain or disclose the author's name, affiliation or credentials, to preserve blind review.
  • Co-authorship: Each manuscript may have up to two authors.
  • Originality: Manuscripts must be original and not previously published or under consideration elsewhere.
  • Generative AI: AI-assisted content is capped per the journal's policy; exceeding the stated threshold results in summary rejection.
