Judicial Internship at the Office of Hon'ble Mr. Justice N. Kotiswar Singh, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi (September & October 2026 Batches)

The Office of Hon'ble Mr. Justice N. Kotiswar Singh, Judge, Supreme Court of India, is inviting applications for physical internships in the chamber at the Supreme Court in New Delhi. The chamber's own application form states that candidates from all parts of the country are strongly encouraged to apply, and that applications from diverse backgrounds are particularly welcome.

The application form currently offers two intake windows: September 2026 and October 2026. Applicants pick their preferred month on the form itself, and the form also allows a different month to be entered under an "Other" option.

Justice N. Kotiswar Singh was elevated to the Supreme Court of India on 18 July 2024 and holds office until 9 June 2028. Before that he practised in the Supreme Court and then before the Gauhati High Court, appeared in the Central Administrative Tribunal at Guwahati and in the subordinate courts of Manipur, and served as Standing Counsel for several Government of Manipur departments and public undertakings.

He was designated a Senior Advocate by the Gauhati High Court in March 2008 and served as Advocate General of Manipur from November 2007 until his elevation. He was sworn in as a Judge of the Gauhati High Court in 2011, moved to the Manipur High Court on its creation in 2013, and twice performed the duties of Chief Justice of that Court.

• Preferably final-year law students.
• Penultimate-year law students may also apply.
• The application form's own year-of-study options cover the 5th and 4th year of a five-year law course, the 3rd and 2nd year of a three-year law course, and candidates who have already graduated.
• Applications are invited from candidates across India.

The internship runs for one month and may be extended based on performance. It is a physical internship, carried out in person at the Supreme Court of India in New Delhi. There is no online or remote option.

Applicants should have the following ready before opening the form, since several fields are mandatory:

• Preferred month of internship (September 2026 or October 2026).
• Full name, home town and state, and the district and state where the applicant is currently living.
• Email address and contact number.
• Name of the university or college, whether the course is a 5-year or 3-year law course, and the current year of study.
• Legal subjects of interest and major achievements.
• A CV or resume as a single upload of up to 10 MB (mandatory), and optionally one piece of written work, also up to 10 MB.

Uploading files requires signing in to a Google account, and Google records the name, email and photo on that account when the form is submitted.

Applications are accepted only through the prescribed Google Form linked below. The chamber states plainly that email applications will not be entertained, so sending a CV to any address instead of filling the form will not put a candidate in the pool.

The chamber's form does not mention any stipend, and judicial internships in Supreme Court chambers are ordinarily unpaid. Applicants should plan for their own travel and stay in New Delhi.

The form also carries no published closing date. It is live and accepting responses as at 13 August 2026, but with a September intake only weeks away, the September window can be expected to close first and could shut without notice. Anyone interested in the September batch should apply immediately; those aiming at October still have room but should not wait.
