The Office of Hon'ble Mr. Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, Judge, Supreme Court of India, is inviting applications for a physical judicial internship for the month of September 2026. The internship is served in person in the judge's office at the Supreme Court of India in New Delhi; the announcement describes it as a physical internship and offers no remote or online alternative.
The chamber runs this as a month-by-month intake rather than a single annual programme, and has issued separate calls through 2026 for its April, June, July, August and September batches, each carrying the same application address. The call now open is for the September 2026 batch only.
According to his official profile on the Supreme Court of India website, Justice Satish Chandra Sharma was born on 30 November 1961 at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and practised in constitutional, service, civil and criminal matters before the High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur. He was appointed Additional Central Government Counsel on 28 May 1993, was designated a Senior Advocate by the High Court of Madhya Pradesh in 2003 at the age of 42, and was elevated as an Additional Judge of that High Court on 18 January 2008, becoming a Permanent Judge on 15 January 2010.
He was transferred to the Karnataka High Court in December 2020, appointed its Acting Chief Justice on 31 August 2021, elevated as Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court on 11 October 2021, and took oath as Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court on 28 June 2022. He was elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India on 9 November 2023.
The office has invited applications from:
No other eligibility condition has been announced, and the notice sets no minimum marks, no institution restriction and no separate quota.
Applications are made by email only. Write to internshipshmjscs@gmail.com using the exact subject line prescribed by the office:
There is no application form and no application fee. The office has not named any other route, so applications sent through a different channel or with a different subject line risk being missed.
The office has not announced any cut-off date for the September 2026 batch. Because the internship runs during September 2026, applications need to reach the chamber comfortably before that month begins, and earlier calls from this office have been circulated roughly three to four weeks ahead of the batch they cover. Treat the call as open until the chamber fills the batch and apply as early as you can rather than waiting for a stated last date.
To keep expectations accurate, the following are simply not addressed in the chamber's announcement:
Applicants who need any of these confirmed should raise them in their application email.
