Overview

Blancco is hiring a Junior Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team in Pune, India. This is a hybrid role for an early-career lawyer who wants to grow inside a global technology company, working across commercial contracts, compliance, legal operations and data privacy. If you have a year or more of legal experience and enjoy practical, business-facing legal work, this is a strong opportunity to build a career in technology and SaaS law.

The position is listed on Blancco's official careers board, and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so it is worth applying early.

About Blancco

Blancco is a global leader in software-based data erasure and mobile device lifecycle solutions. Founded in 1997, the company provides enterprises, IT asset disposition vendors (ITADs) and data centres with certified tools to permanently and verifiably destroy data across devices. This allows organisations to safely reuse, resell or recycle hardware while staying compliant with data protection requirements. Blancco operates internationally and serves customers across the technology, financial and enterprise sectors.

The role

As Junior Legal Counsel, you will support Blancco's legal and business teams on a broad mix of technology and commercial legal matters. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, including NDAs, SaaS and software agreements, vendor agreements, partner agreements and data processing agreements (DPAs).
  • Providing practical, risk-based legal advice to business and cross-functional teams.
  • Conducting legal research and assisting with regulatory, compliance and commercial legal matters.
  • Supporting data privacy and compliance initiatives, including GDPR-related requirements.
  • Identifying, assessing and mitigating legal and contractual risks.
  • Maintaining contract templates, legal documentation and contract repositories.
  • Helping develop legal policies, processes and playbooks, and using legal technology and AI tools to improve legal operations.
  • Monitoring relevant legal and regulatory developments and collaborating with internal stakeholders and external counsel as needed.

Who can apply

Blancco is looking for candidates who broadly meet the following profile:

  • An LL.B. degree from a recognised university.
  • 1 to 3 years of legal experience, ideally in-house or in roles supporting technology, software, SaaS or commercial clients.
  • Working knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR.
  • Strong legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and give practical, business-oriented advice.
  • Comfort with legal technology, AI tools and business applications.
  • Flexibility to support work during US time-zone hours.

Location and work mode

This is a hybrid / remote role based in Pune, India. Working from the Pune office will be required on an as-needed basis. Because the role supports global teams, some flexibility to work during US time-zone hours is expected.

Compensation

Blancco has not published a salary figure for this role. Compensation is typically discussed during the hiring process. Treat this as a paid, permanent in-house position; confirm the exact package directly with the company during interviews.
