About Juris-Prudence '26 and Quantum School of Law

Quantum School of Law, Quantum University, Roorkee (Uttarakhand), is organising the 6th edition of its All India Moot Court Competition, Juris-Prudence '26. The Moot Court Society of the university runs the competition in hybrid mode: the Researcher Test and the two Preliminary Rounds are held online, and the Pre-Quarter, Quarter-Final, Semi-Final and Final rounds are held on the Quantum University campus.

This edition is dedicated to the memory of the late Nani A. Palkhivala, whose advocacy in Golaknath, R.C. Cooper and Kesavananda Bharati shaped Indian constitutional law.

Theme and Moot Proposition

The theme is The Legal Battle Against Paper Leak. The proposition, set in the fictional Republic of Swarashtra, concerns a National Testing Board that runs a single national entrance and recruitment examination and hands its technology operations to a private company, TechnoCore Global Solutions Ltd., under a public-private partnership. It raises questions of examination integrity, transparency, statutory indemnity and accountability. The full proposition is printed in the official brochure.

Eligibility and Team Composition

  • Open to law students currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in law, that is, the 3-year LL.B. or the 5-year LL.B. programme.
  • Each team has three members, or at least two. Every team must include two speakers (orators) and one researcher, designated at the time of registration.
  • Each team gets a team code by email after registration. Teams must not disclose their institution or city at any stage; doing so can lead to disqualification.
  • A bona fide certificate from the head of the institution must be sent along with the memorials.

Registration Fee

  • Early bird registration (by 15 October 2026): Rs 3,000 per team
  • Regular registration (by 24 October 2026): Rs 4,000 per team
  • Advancement fee: teams that qualify beyond the preliminary rounds pay an additional Rs 3,000 per team, payable only at that stage. The organisers state that accommodation is included in this additional fee.

The fee is paid by bank transfer (NEFT) to Quantum University's account; the account details are in the official brochure and the quick reference sheet.

How to Register

Fill in the official online registration form by 24 October 2026 and attach the payment receipt in the form. • Teams reaching the offline rounds bring 6 printed sets for each side (12 copies in all) at the time of arrival.
  • Times New Roman 12 point for the body with 1.5 line spacing, footnotes not below size 10, A4 paper, one-inch margins, and no more than 40 pages excluding the cover. The Arguments Advanced part must not exceed 15 pages.
  • Citation follows the Bluebook, 20th edition.
  • The name of the institution must not appear anywhere in the memorial.
