Jus Novum – AU Nationwide Law Fest 2026 (Apex University, Jaipur)

The Moot Court Society of Apex School of Law, Apex University, Jaipur, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, Jaipur (District), invites you to Jus Novum – AU Nationwide Law Fest, 2026. "Jus Novum" means "New Law", and the fest is built around the idea that law is not just a profession but an instrument for social transformation, justice and human dignity.

This is a national-level, hybrid law fest spanning 11 competitions. While traditional litigation forms its foundation, the heart of Jus Novum lies in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and clinical legal skills – the flagship contests are Mediation, Client Counselling and Arbitration. Around these sit a wide range of one-day and online competitions, with a total prize pool of up to INR 1.5 Lakh.

Apex University, Jaipur is an institution of higher education backed by the Sanjay Shiksha Samiti (established 1965). Apex School of Law offers Ph.D., LL.M. (two-year), LL.B. (three-year) and B.A. LL.B. (five-year integrated) programmes, and integrates classroom learning with moot courts, legal aid, mock trials, seminars and workshops.

The Moot Court Society of Apex School of Law is the institution's central academic body for advocacy and moot training, and the organiser of this fest. The event is held in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, Jaipur (District), constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.

Jus Novum is split across hybrid, one-day and online formats, covering 11 competitions in all:

Hybrid Events (reserved for law students):

• Arbitration Competition – cash prizes worth INR 44,000
• Mediation Competition – cash prizes worth INR 31,000
• Client Counselling Competition – cash prizes worth INR 29,000

One-Day Events:

• Debate Competition – INR 8,000
• Judgment Writing Competition – INR 8,000 (reserved for law students)
• Quiz Competition – INR 3,200
• Essay Writing Competition – INR 3,000
• Poster Making Competition – INR 3,000

Online Events:

• Article Writing Competition – INR 8,000 (plus publication for the top ten articles in the Vidhishala Journal)
• Short Film Making Competition – INR 5,000
• Creative Writing Competition – INR 4,000

Eligibility varies by competition:

• The Hybrid Events (Arbitration, Mediation, Client Counselling) and the Judgment Writing Competition are exclusively reserved for law students.
• All other competitions are open to students from schools (Classes 8th–12th), colleges and universities across all academic disciplines.

Registration fees, eligibility and rules vary for each event, and each registration form carries its own payment QR code. You should make payment only through the QR code in the registration form of the competition you are entering.

Note: accommodation charges are separate and are not included in the registration fee. Details on accommodation are shared with teams after the Hybrid Rounds conclude.

The fest carries a prize pool of up to INR 1.5 Lakh, with trophies and Certificates of Merit across competitions. Highlights from the flagship events:

• Arbitration: Winner INR 21,000; Runner-up INR 11,000; Best Memorial INR 7,000; Best Speaker INR 5,000
• Mediation: Winner INR 16,000; Runner-up INR 10,000; Best Mediator INR 5,000
• Client Counselling: Winner INR 11,000; Runner-up INR 8,000; Best Client INR 5,000; Best Counsel INR 5,000

The Jus Novum Rolling Trophy is a permanent running trophy that resides at Apex University, with the winning institution's name engraved on it each year. Partner perks include journal publication slots (Vidhishala Foundation), merit-based online internships, certificate-course access and discounts from collaborators such as Law Foyer, Jus Corpus, Legal Vidhiya, Record of Law and The Lawscape. • 10th June 2026: Release of brochure and commencement of registration
• 30th June 2026: Last date for early-bird registration
• 31st July 2026: Last date to register for hybrid and online events
• 21st – 23rd August 2026: Preliminary (online) rounds – Client Counselling, Mediation, Arbitration
• 28th August 2026: Result declaration of preliminary rounds
• 2nd September 2026: Last date to register for one-day competitions and accommodation payment
• 11th – 13th September 2026: Offline (on-campus) rounds, one-day events, Gala Night and Valedictory Ceremony

Access all event registration forms through the official Google Drive folder linked below, and complete the form for each competition you wish to enter. Each form contains the relevant rulebook details and a payment QR code. Make the payment through that QR code, upload your payment proof, and submit the form.
