The Kautilya Society at the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, invites blog submissions for its flagship policy blog, Kautilya's Take. The blog is a forum for reflective and critical discourse on matters intersecting law, governance, and public policy. If you have an argument that engages with a contemporary legal or policy development, challenges an existing framework, or proposes a grounded, research-driven solution to a modern governance challenge, this is a space for it.
The submission portal is open from 18 June 2026 to 31 August 2026, and submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis as they are received. There is no fee to submit, and the call is open to writers from across disciplines.
The Kautilya Society is a student-led initiative established through a partnership between NUSRL Ranchi and the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, New Delhi. The Society works to bridge the divide between legal academia and real-world policy development, giving students the chance to engage in research, take part in dialogue, and contribute to reform-oriented public discourse.
The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy is an independent think-tank that carries out legal research to make better laws and improve governance for the public good. It works through peer-reviewed original legal research, engagement with the Government of India and State governments, and strategic litigation on important law and policy issues. Kautilya's Take is the Society's flagship blog, intended to host diverse voices addressing pressing social, legal, economic, and administrative challenges from a policy perspective.
Kautilya's Take welcomes submissions on contemporary legal and policy developments. The following sub-themes are directional in nature. You are free to explore the intersections between them and other relevant aspects of related policy analysis:
Submissions are open to students, academicians, researchers, and professionals from all fields of study. The blog is committed to analytical depth and accessibility, so it is suitable for both academic readers and those without a formal background in law or policy.
Entries may be submitted by a single author or co-authored by up to two authors.
There is no submission or publication fee. Participation in the call is free.
Submissions are accepted through the official Google Form, and the portal remains open from 18 June 2026 to 31 August 2026, with entries reviewed as they arrive.
Every blog first undergoes preliminary screening by the Student Review Board for originality, plagiarism and AI compliance, grammar, formatting, and topical relevance. On clearing this stage, the blog is forwarded to the relevant Peer Review Panel (PRP) Board Member for subject-specific expert review and a final recommendation on publication.
The review timeline ordinarily begins after 18 June 2026, and authors generally receive a response on acceptance, revision, or publication status within 15 days of submission. In exceptional cases (such as a high volume of submissions or administrative delays), the process may take longer. Selected blogs, once finally approved, are published on the official website of the Kautilya Society under the Kautilya's Take blog platform.
Submit your blog by filling out the official Google Form (also reachable by scanning the QR code in the brochure). Attach your Word document with the blog, your short bio, and at least two copyright-free images. Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis, so earlier entries are assessed sooner, but the portal stays open until 31 August 2026.
