The Office of the District Collector, Ranipet District (Government of Tamil Nadu) has issued a Revised Notification (R.C.B4/5183/2026, dated 16.06.2026) inviting applications from eligible advocates for appointment as Law Officers in the District and Subordinate Courts of Ranipet District on a tenure basis. The notification follows Government Letter No. 9987/Courts-VIA/2026-1, Home (Courts-VIA) Department, dated 01.06.2026.
A total of 17 posts are to be filled across the principal, additional, sub and district munsif courts in Ranipet District.
The 17 posts include the following roles across courts in Ranipet, Arakkonam, Sholinghur, Arcot and Walaja:
Advocates practising in Tamil Nadu with not less than seven years of standing at the Bar are eligible. As per Section 18(7) and 18(8) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, an advocate must have not less than seven years in practice to be appointed Public Prosecutor or Additional Public Prosecutor, and not less than ten years to be appointed Special Public Prosecutor.
The Law Officer will be appointed on a tenure basis for a period to be prescribed by the Government and may be terminated before the expiry of the term. The decision of the Government on the appointments and the number of vacancies to be filled shall be final.
Eligible advocates willing to accept the post should express their willingness in writing by furnishing the particulars required in the prescribed application form (Annexure I & II) in six copies with two passport size photographs.
The application should reach the Office of the District Collector (Personal Assistant to Collector - General), Ranipet District, Tamil Nadu, on or before 07.07.2026, 05:45 PM. Applications received after 5:45 PM on 07.07.2026 will not be considered and will be summarily rejected.
No application fee is mentioned in the notification.
