About LAWTREK 2026

LAWTREK 2026 is the flagship national inter-college legal competition organised by the Moot Court Society of CPJ Group of Institutions, held on the theme "Where Advocacy Meets Excellence". The festival brings law students from institutions across the country to the CPJ campus at Narela, Delhi for two days of competition across five distinct events.

The event is designed to take participants beyond classroom learning into practical legal skills - advocacy, dispute resolution, legal drafting, policy formulation, investigation and diplomacy. It is hosted by CPJ Institute of Management & Technology under the patronage of Dr. Yugank Chaturvedi (Director General, CPJ Group of Institutions) and Dr. Neha Mittal Bhaskar (Director, CPJ Institute of Management & Technology), with Ms. Ishmeet Kaur Sodhi (Assistant Dean) as Chief Event Convener.

The Five Competitions

  • Institution of Suit / Writ / Petition - a legal simulation testing drafting, procedural accuracy and oral advocacy within the framework of civil litigation. Teams of 2, both designated as Counsel (Speakers).
  • Mediation & Negotiation - teams of 3.
  • Crime Scene Investigation - a three-round simulation for field investigators covering evidentiary law, deduction and procedure, run over a written round, a clue-and-treasure round and a live crime scene investigation with a questionnaire phase. Teams of exactly 2 from the same institution.
  • Policy Drafting - teams of 2.
  • Model United Nations (MUN) - solo participation.

Separate rulebooks govern each competition, and the Institution of Suit and Mediation & Negotiation events additionally carry their own problem propositions. All are linked below.
