The Luxembourg Centre for European Law (LCEL) at the University of Luxembourg has opened a call (published 2 October 2026) for its Early Career Scholars Visiting Programme. The Centre wants to support early career scholars who would benefit from its research environment, whether to conclude a manuscript, a PhD thesis or an article, or to refine the first ideas of a research project.
Visitors get exchanges with international colleagues working in related fields, access to the LCEL Library, and proximity to the EU institutions located in Luxembourg. The Centre's primary focus is the law of the European Union.
Where funding from the host institution is not available, the LCEL offers a limited number of scholarships for research stays at the Centre of one month between January and June 2027.
The presence of funded visitors at the Centre during the funding period is compulsory.
Visitors are expected to take part in the Centre's activities and present their work at an LCEL Guest Forum. They can use the Centre's library, attend its scholarly events and interact with its researchers. For longer stays, visitors are also expected to produce a substantial, publishable scholarly contribution and to contribute to the Centre's research paper series.
Email the required documents, in English, to lcel.ext.staff@uni.lu by 15 November 2026. Applications will be reviewed promptly, and selection decisions will be announced by the beginning of December 2026.
