This is a full-time, in-office role focused on transactional and commercial legal work across India, the United States, and other global jurisdictions. About the role

As Legal Executive for International Contracts, you will provide legal support for BioUrja's operations in India, the United States, and other jurisdictions. You will report to the Team Leader (Legal) in India, working closely with the General Counsel and the wider legal team. The role is centred on transactional and commercial legal matters spanning multiple industries and jurisdictions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Entering and verifying contract details in SAP, and ensuring proper documentation and archiving.
  • Monitoring communications received through the legal department's email.
  • Reviewing the commercial aspects of counterparties' contracts and resolving discrepancies.
  • Coordinating with the finance team on contract audits.
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents including NDAs, Master Trade Agreements, Terms and Conditions, Master Service Agreements, Parent Guarantees, Lease and Storage Agreements, Transportation Agreements, Credit Agreements, Share Subscription and Purchase Agreements, and corporate governance documents.
  • Conducting research on international sanctions laws.
  • Providing legal advice on contractual matters across various industries.
  • Developing internal governance policies and supporting compliance activities.
  • Identifying and evaluating legal and business risks, and applying risk management strategies.
  • Communicating and negotiating with regulators, external counsel, public authorities, and other external stakeholders.
  • Supporting corporate and commercial legal matters, and maintaining legal records and documentation.

Who can apply

You are a good fit if you:

  • Hold an LL.B. or LL.M. degree from a reputed law college.
  • Have a minimum of one year of post-qualification experience as in-house counsel or in a law firm. Freshers may also be considered.
  • Possess strong drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
  • Are capable of working autonomously and handling negotiations independently.
  • Have excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Are flexible and able to work efficiently in an international operational environment.
  • Bring strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Have a pragmatic business approach with an understanding of how legal implications affect business operations.
  • Can work both independently and as part of a team.

Work mode and schedule

This is an in-office position in Indore. Work-from-home arrangements are not permitted. The role follows a five-day work week and may require working in one of the following shifts, with allocation based on business requirements:

  • 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM
  • 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM
