Overview

Shuruwat Foundation is inviting applications for an online internship open to anyone who wants to contribute to social causes. This is a four-week, fully virtual programme with rolling applications, so you can join immediately once selected.

If you enjoy writing, raising awareness, and getting involved in on-ground social welfare, this internship lets you build practical skills while supporting a registered NGO. There is no stipend, but you receive a certificate, a letter of recommendation, and an internship opportunity with the Foundation's legal education partner.

About Shuruwat Foundation

Shuruwat Foundation is a government-registered NGO that began its work in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh in 2019 and was formally recognised with the government in March 2020. It has since extended its operations to Uttarakhand.

The Foundation works across several areas of social welfare, including:

  • Human development and support for needy elderly people
  • Environmental development, tree plantation, and animal welfare
  • Women's safety, welfare, and awareness
  • Helping underprivileged people access jobs and opportunities
  • Children's welfare
  • Providing internships

The Role

The internship is structured week by week, giving you exposure to different facets of running a social welfare organisation:

  • Week 1 - Editorial: Choose a topic related to social welfare or social work and write your thoughts on it, using your words to create impact and awareness.
  • Week 2 - Fund Raising: Support the Foundation's fundraising efforts.
  • Week 3 - PR & Marketing: Spread awareness about how Shuruwat Foundation works and reaches underprivileged communities, including initiatives like menstrual pad distribution. You will circulate posters and links to the Foundation's social media handles so more people can connect with the organisation.
  • Week 4 - Social Welfare: Take part in on-ground social work such as distribution of sanitary pads, food, and other essentials.

Who Can Apply

This internship is open to all. Everyone is invited to serve society, so there is no qualification or experience requirement. If you are motivated to contribute, you are eligible to apply.
