Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA), one of India's major ports under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, is inviting applications from eligible Indian nationals for several managerial positions on a purely contractual basis. The engagement runs for an initial term of three years, extendable by two more years at the Authority's discretion.

Mumbai Port Authority (formerly Mumbai Port Trust) is a statutory body and one of India's oldest and largest ports. It handles a significant share of the country's seaborne trade and operates an extensive estate across the Mumbai harbour. The Authority manages litigation, contracts, environmental compliance and large-scale infrastructure as part of its day-to-day operations, which is where these specialist roles come in.

The Authority is filling the following positions (with consolidated monthly remuneration):
Chief Manager (Corporate Legal) is responsible for the Authority's court cases and advising management on the right perspective for pursuing them. The role covers legal risk, policy development, litigation management, regulatory competence and contract negotiation, plus leading and mentoring the legal team.
Manager (Corporate Legal) liaises with departments to ensure appropriate action is taken where legal risks are identified, monitors compliance with statutory obligations, and reviews the progress of outstanding litigation while coordinating with external lawyers.
Eligibility is assessed as on 1 June 2026. For the legal positions:
Qualifications must be from Indian universities approved by the UGC, recognised Indian institutes, or recognised international universities. Only experience gained after acquiring the essential qualification is counted. No retired officers or deputationists will be engaged.
This is a contractual assignment, not a regular government post - MbPA will not provide regularisation or permanency. Other terms include:
