One-Day International Seminar on Gender Equality, Innovation and Sustainable Development: Interdisciplinary Perspectives

Noida International University was established in 2010 by an Act of the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Act No. 27 of 2010). It is approved under Sections 2(f) and 12(b) of the UGC Act 1956, is accredited by NAAC with an A+ grade and a score of 3.44 in Cycle 1, and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities. The University was also recognised by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation in 2022 and 2025.

The School of Liberal Arts, which began in 2011, is the organising school. It draws faculty from across the social sciences and runs a regular programme of seminars, workshops, guest lectures and expert talks, with sustained interaction with industry, NGOs and government agencies.

The International Seminar on "Gender Equality, Innovation and Sustainable Development: Interdisciplinary Perspectives" is a one-day event scheduled for 1 October 2026 in hybrid mode. It offers a platform for academicians, researchers, policymakers, practitioners and students to examine the place of gender equality in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and SDG 5 in particular.

The programme is built around interdisciplinary dialogue on social justice, law, public health, education, media, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, climate resilience and economic empowerment. The stated aim is to encourage innovative research, evidence based policymaking and collaborative partnerships that advance inclusion, equity and sustainable development.

Papers are invited under seven tracks, each with its own set of sub-themes:

• Gender, Power and Feminist Thought: patriarchal structures in family, education, religion and the workplace; feminist theories and regional movements in South Asia; digital feminism and online activism; grassroots gender justice initiatives; women's leadership in social and political movements; gender based violence, resistance and collective action.
• Women, History, Culture and Indigenous Knowledge: representation in history, literature and cultural narratives; recovering women's voices through archives, museums and heritage; indigenous women as custodians of traditional knowledge; folk arts and oral traditions; gender, identity and cultural memory; intangible cultural heritage.
• Women's Inclusion, Equity and Sustainable Development: intersectionality across caste, class, disability, ethnicity, sexuality and religion; gender responsive governance; participation in local governance; gender equality and the SDGs; access to education, resources and public services; social protection and welfare policy.
• Women, Media, Technology and Artificial Intelligence: representation and leadership in media industries; women in STEM and emerging technologies; gender bias in AI; the gender digital divide; online safety, cyber violence and digital rights; women content creators and digital entrepreneurship.
• Women's Economic Empowerment and the Future of Work: women entrepreneurs and innovation ecosystems; access to finance, credit and markets; financial inclusion and digital banking; skilling and reskilling; the informal economy and gig work; rural livelihoods and self-help groups; corporate inclusion and gender diversity.
• Women's Health, Care and Well-being: physical, reproductive and sexual health; maternal health and nutrition; mental health and psychosocial well-being; unpaid care work and the care economy; work-life balance; gender, climate change and health; healthcare access for rural, tribal and marginalised women.
• Women, Law, Rights and Justice: constitutional and legal safeguards; women's human rights in international and comparative perspective; gender justice and access to legal aid; addressing gender based violence through law and policy; workplace harassment and legal remedies; property, inheritance and land rights; the gap between legal rights and lived experience; privacy, cyber laws and online protection.

The call is open to academicians, researchers, policymakers, practitioners and students. Submissions are invited in all areas of Humanities and Social Sciences, Law and related interdisciplinary themes that align with the seminar theme.

Each paper may carry a maximum of two authors. Work must be original and unpublished. Authors are expected to report data, methods and findings accurately, to acknowledge and cite the work of others, and to disclose any conflict of interest. Plagiarism in any form leads to rejection, and simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to other conferences or journals is prohibited.

• Papers must use the prescribed template made available on the seminar website.
• Citation style: APA 7th edition throughout.
• Font and spacing: 10 point Times New Roman with 1.15 line spacing.
• Full paper of 3,000 to 3,500 words, inclusive of abstract, keywords, citations, references and bibliography.
• Abstract must not exceed 300 words.
• The document must not exceed seven pages and may include figures, graphs and images.
• Maximum two authors per paper.

Accepted and presented papers will be considered for publication in a Scopus-indexed edited book, journal or special issue, subject to the publisher's peer review policy and terms. The organisers state that final publication depends on the publication partner's norms, which include a similarity index below 10 percent, the applicable AI policy and the originality of the work.

Each accepted and presented paper receives a certificate of participation, regardless of the number of authors.

The official page sets out a fee structure with separate rates for Foreign Authors, Industry Professionals, and Academicians and Faculty, split into an early bird slab closing 5 September 2026 and a late slab closing 10 September 2026. All six figures are shown as "To be updated" on the seminar page, so the amounts had not been published at the time of this listing. Applicants should confirm the current rates with the organisers before committing.

After submission, authors receive an acceptance email carrying the registration and payment link. For any accepted paper with more than one author, each author must register separately and pay the fee applicable to their own designation.
