[Paid] Program Executive (Legal) at Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO), New Delhi (Rs 80,000-1,20,000/month)

The Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) framework, launched in April 2018, aims to build an ecosystem that fosters innovation and technology development in defence and aerospace in India. It engages MSMEs, start-ups, individual innovators, R&D institutes and academia, and provides them grants, funding and other support to create products and services for future adoption by the Indian defence and aerospace sector.

The iDEX team is the executive arm of the Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO), which is the legal entity behind the framework. DIO is a Section-8 company created by the defence PSUs Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to support the Ministry of Defence in building the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem in defence in India.

• Method of engagement: Individual Consultant on a full-time basis, purely on contract, through competitive mode of hiring

• LLB with 4 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field, OR
• LLM with 2 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field
• Candidates should be below 30 years of age as on 10 August 2026

The candidate must have experience in any of the following fields:

• Experience as a legal adviser or legal executive for a renowned company, Government Department, PSU or similar organisation
• Experience in legal documentation, case filing and representation in a court of law, contract management, legal interpretation and arbitration
• Knowledge of the various Acts, Rules and Regulations applicable to start-ups, MSMEs, Government Departments and companies

Supporting the iDEX management in the following activities:

• Responsible for all legal compliances applicable to DIO
• Providing legal advice, interpretation and decisions on various legal documents and clauses
• Representing DIO in legal matters
• Any other work assigned by the COO of DIO or any superior authority in DIO

• A consolidated monthly consultancy fee ranging from Rs 80,000 to Rs 1,20,000 per month, inclusive of all taxes, as approved by the competent authority on the recommendation of the Interview and Selection Committee.
• The consultant is liable to pay GST as applicable, with provision for reimbursement of GST paid against the consultancy fee received from DIO.
• Annual increment of up to 10% of the existing consultancy fee, based on the annual appraisal as per applicable DIO rules.
• Income tax and any other tax will be deducted at source, and DIO will issue a TDS certificate.
• The contract is initially for 3 years, extendable by up to 2 further years depending on DIO's requirement and satisfactory performance. In exceptional circumstances it may be extended beyond 5 years with the approval of the DIO Board. At no point may the monthly fee exceed 1.80 times the initial monthly consultancy fee.

• Candidates shortlisted for interview will be notified by email.
• Shortlisted candidates may be called for an in-person interview at New Delhi or through video conferencing.
• The interview may involve skill tests, a personal interview and group discussions, debates or quizzes.
• No claim regarding fare or travel expenses will be entertained by DIO for attending the interview.

• The engagement is purely on a contract basis and confers no right to permanent absorption or regular engagement in DIO.
• Any extension after joining shall be up to the date the consultant attains 60 years of age, whichever is earlier.
• The consultant must not be engaged directly or indirectly in any trade, business, occupation or other remunerative commitment while working with DIO, as the engagement is full time.
• Engagement is subject to acceptance of a Consultancy Contract (undertaking or bond), to be executed on stamp paper of Rs 200.
• A consultant who leaves before completing the initial contract period will not be given a work experience certificate.
• DIO reserves the right to terminate the hiring process or the contract at any time without assigning any reason, to vary the number of positions, and to select fewer or no candidates if none are found suitable. DIO will not entertain queries about the hiring process or explain its hiring decisions.
