About NFRA

The National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) is India's independent audit regulator, constituted under the Companies Act, 2013. It oversees accounting and auditing standards and works to enhance the quality of financial reporting in India. NFRA has invited applications from dynamic and motivated Legal professionals (alongside CA/CMA and IT professionals) for engagement as Young Professionals on a purely contractual basis, vide Vacancy Circular NF-12048/1/2024-ADMIN dated 5 June 2026.

About the Engagement

Selected candidates will be engaged full-time for an initial period of two (2) years, extendable by one year at a time up to a maximum tenure of five years (2+1+1+1). Continuation each year depends on performance evaluated by the competent authority. The role offers exposure to the regulatory domain of financial reporting and auditing standards, working alongside seasoned experts and contributing to NFRA's review, monitoring and other statutory functions. The place of posting will normally be New Delhi.

Position and Vacancies

  • Young Professional (Legal) - Four (4) positions
  • The same circular also covers Young Professional (CA/CMA) - 4 positions, and Young Professional (IT - Web Designer/UI-UX Designer) - 1 position
  • The number of positions may increase or decrease based on NFRA's requirement

Eligibility for Young Professional (Legal)

  • Age limit: below 32 years as on the last date of receipt of application
  • Essential qualification: LLB from a recognized university/institute, or BA-LLB (5-year integrated course)
  • Experience: at least one year of post-qualification experience in legal matters, with excellent hands-on experience in legal research and drafting of petitions, counter affidavits, etc.; excellent computer skills (typing, MS Office, internet and search tools) are a must
  • Desirable: LL.M (preferably in Corporate Law), experience in NFRA-related domain areas, and experience of working in Government/Statutory Bodies

Job Profile

Drafting of petitions and counter affidavits, legal research, legal vetting/advice, handling the legal database, and any other task allotted by senior officers in NFRA. During the engagement, the Young Professional (Legal) shall neither practice as an Advocate nor engage, part-time or full-time, with any other agency, organisation or employer.

Remuneration

Consolidated remuneration of Rs 70,000 per month for the first year. No other financial benefits (Medical, HRA, Transport, etc.) are payable. Increase in remuneration from the second year onwards is performance-linked: up to 5% for significant contribution, and up to 10% in exceptional cases of exemplary performance, with the approval of the competent authority. Young Professionals are entitled to leave at 1.5 days per completed month (no carry-forward beyond the calendar year).

Selection Process and Key Conditions

  • Selection is based on a suitability assessment, which may comprise a written assessment test, interview, or both, conducted by NFRA
  • No TA/DA is payable for attending the written test/interview or for joining
  • The assignment is purely contractual and confers no right to permanent absorption or regular appointment
  • Either side may terminate the engagement with 30 days' notice or one month's remuneration in lieu
  • Selected candidates must furnish a declaration of fidelity and secrecy as prescribed by NFRA

The application, along with an index of documents and self-signed, numbered supporting documents, should be addressed to the Deputy General Manager (Establishment) and sent by post/courier in an envelope superscribed "APPLICATION FOR YOUNG PROFESSIONAL IN NFRA" to: National Financial Reporting Authority, 7th Floor, HT House, 18-20 KG Marg, New Delhi - 110001.

Applications should also be sent by email to manager-admn@nfra.gov.in as a single scanned PDF, with the subject line "Application for the post of Young Professional in NFRA from (name of the applicant)". The last date for receipt of applications is 30 days from the date of issue of the circular dated 5 June 2026 (i.e., by 4 July 2026). Applicants are advised to check the NFRA website regularly for any changes to the circular.
