About the opportunity

Noida Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRC), a joint venture company of the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh that operates the Noida–Greater Noida Metro corridor, has invited applications for the engagement of a Young Professional (Legal) on direct contract basis. The engagement is advertised under Advt. No. NMRC/HR/Rectt./04/2026 dated 17 July 2026, and NMRC states that it is meeting an immediate requirement of experienced personnel in the legal discipline. Applications are open to candidates of Indian nationality with relevant work experience.

Post and tenure

  • Post: Young Professional (Legal)
  • Number of posts: 1 (Unreserved)
  • Nature of engagement: Direct contract basis, purely contractual, full-time
  • Tenure: Initially one year, extendable by one year at a time based on NMRC's requirement and the candidate's performance. The contract tenure shall not exceed three years from the date of initial engagement and ceases automatically on completion of three years. Extension is at the sole discretion of NMRC management and is not a right of the candidate.
  • Place of posting: NMRC Headquarters, Noida. NMRC reserves the right to post the selected candidate at any of its offices, places of business, branch offices or consultancy offices across India.
  • Working hours: 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The incumbent may not take up any other assignment during the engagement.

Eligibility

  • Qualification: Full-time Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognised University or Institute, either a 3-year regular course or a 5-year integrated regular course. The minimum qualification must be from a Government-recognised University or Institute only.
  • Experience: 4 years or above post-qualification work experience in handling legal cases, legal documentation, drafting of contracts, statutory compliance under various Acts, RTI and related matters.
  • Age: Maximum 35 years as on the closing date, that is 14 August 2026. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (NCL) applies only to posts reserved for those categories; since this post is Unreserved, reserved-category candidates are considered under the general standard of merit with no relaxation.
  • Preference: NMRC states that preference shall be given to candidates with experience of working in the Government sector.

How experience is counted

NMRC has set out an express rule on the computation of the four years of post-qualification experience. Self-practice experience as an advocate will not be considered. Only experience with the Government, Government sector bodies, law firms, professional firms, LLPs or reputed private sector companies will be counted. Candidates whose four years rest wholly on independent practice will therefore not clear the experience bar, and the eligibility cut-off for age, qualification and experience alike is reckoned as on the closing date of the advertisement.

Remuneration and benefits

  • Consolidated remuneration: INR 50,000 per month, inclusive of all benefits and allowances. No other benefit or allowance is paid apart from the consolidated pay.
  • Increment: 5% annual increment on the consolidated pay.
  • EPF and Gratuity: Governed by the respective statutes; for computation, NMRC deducts and contributes on the minimum threshold of INR 15,000 specified under the EPF Act. TDS is deducted as applicable.
  • Leave: 1.5 days of casual leave per month plus 2 Restricted Holidays, credited nine leaves in January and nine in July, on a pro-rata basis from the actual joining date.
  • Medical: The Young Professional takes a health insurance policy of Rs 3 lakh for self, with the premium reimbursed by NMRC up to a ceiling of Rs 5,000 per annum against the policy copy and original premium receipt.
  • Insurance cover: Natural death and accidental death coverage of INR 10 lakh each under group covers taken by NMRC.
  • Travel: Tour reimbursement as entitled to supervisory cadre staff when travelling on official work for court cases or other official matters.

NMRC states that a Young Professional is not entitled to any benefit or compensation available to regular or other contract employees, and shall have no right to claim regularisation in service at any time.

Selection process

There is no written examination. Shortlisted Young Professionals will be called for an interaction or interview by a Selection Committee. NMRC notes that mere submission of an application or fulfilment of the eligibility criteria does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. Call letters and other information will be sent to shortlisted candidates by email only, and may also be published on the NMRC corporate website; shortlisted candidates must appear with all original documents and testimonials. Selected candidates must clear a pre-engagement medical fitness test as per NMRC rules and undergo antecedent verification, and must join within 15 days of the offer of engagement failing which the offer stands withdrawn automatically. Canvassing in any form disqualifies a candidate.

How to apply

Applications are accepted offline only. The completed application in the prescribed Annex-A format, along with all certificates, testimonials and required essential documents, must reach the NMRC office by 14 August 2026 through Registered Post, Speed Post or Courier. NMRC expressly states that submission through any other mode, including email or hand delivery, shall not be permitted, and that it will not be responsible for non-receipt or late receipt of an application due to postal delay or any other reason.

Points to note

Any corrigendum or update on the engagement process will be notified on the NMRC website only.
