Panel Discussion on India's Engagement with International Criminal Justice by the NUJS-ILSA Chapter, WBNUJS Kolkata [Online, 2 October 2026; Free]

The NUJS-ILSA Chapter (International Law Students Association Society) of The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata, in association with the Center for International Law and Diplomacy (CILD), NUJS, presents an online panel discussion titled India's Engagement with International Criminal Justice. It will be held on Friday, 2 October 2026, at 12:00 PM IST.

The ILSA Society at NUJS is an academic society that fosters scholarly engagement and discussion on contemporary issues of international law.

The panel takes up the question: How can India engage with international criminal justice in a manner that is principled, evidence-based, constitutionally sound and sensitive to diplomatic realities? It will look at India's approach to international criminal justice from legal, constitutional and diplomatic perspectives, covering:

• the legal foundations of international criminal justice from a Global South perspective;
• India's domestic capacity regarding high seas law and war crimes;
• victim-centred regional pathways to accountability in Asia.

The session is open to all external attendees, including students, scholars and legal professionals.
