Overview

The GNLU Centre for Sports and Entertainment Law (GCSEL) runs Pitch & Pixels, a blog dedicated to the latest developments, trends, and legal nuances across the sports and entertainment industries. If you follow how the law shapes everything from broadcasting deals to personality rights, this is a place to publish your analysis and join a community of academics, practitioners, and enthusiasts.

Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis, so there is no fixed closing date - you can pitch whenever your piece is ready. Blogs should run between 1,000 and 1,500 words, and the editorial team takes a minimum of two weeks to review each submission.

About the organiser

Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) was established in 2003 in Gandhinagar and is a premier research-based statutory National Law University, recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The GNLU Centre for Sports and Entertainment Law (GCSEL) studies and engages with the evolving landscape of sports and entertainment law, working through complex legal questions in these fields. The Pitch & Pixels blog is one of the ways the Centre disseminates insights and fosters dialogue and knowledge-sharing in the area.

Themes and topics

Your submission should fall within sports law, media, and entertainment law. Indicative areas include:

  • Copyright
  • Personality rights
  • Ethics in sports and entertainment
  • Broadcasting rights
  • Antitrust and competition issues

These are illustrative rather than exhaustive - any well-argued piece sitting at the intersection of law with sport, media, or entertainment is welcome. Relevant visual aids such as images or infographics are encouraged where they add value and are properly credited.

The call is open to academics, legal practitioners, and enthusiasts interested in sports and entertainment law. Co-authorship is permitted, with up to two authors per submission. No further eligibility restrictions are specified in the official call.
