Overview

The Centre for Trans Studies at the University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, invites submissions for the inaugural volume of the PRIDE Journal, an annual, peer-reviewed, refereed publication. The journal welcomes critical, interdisciplinary scholarship on gender diversity, sexuality, and trans experiences across socio-legal, cultural, and global contexts.

There is no submission or publication fee, and the last date to submit is 31 July 2026.

About the organiser

The University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) is a constituent legal-education institute of Panjab University, Chandigarh. Its Centre for Trans Studies focuses on research, advocacy, and community engagement around transgender and gender-diverse lives. The PRIDE Journal is the Centre's annual scholarly platform.

Theme and thrust areas

The journal publishes work that engages critically with gender diversity, sexuality, and transgender experiences across cultures. Indicative thrust areas include:

Who can submit

The call is open to scholars, academicians, researchers, students, and practitioners working on relevant themes. Only original, unpublished work is accepted, and all submissions go through a blind peer-review process.

  • Research articles: 5,000-8,000 words
  • Case comments
  • Book reviews
  • Testimonials

Submission guidelines

  • Submit in MS Word format (.doc/.docx)
  • Body text in Times New Roman, 12pt, with 1.5 line spacing
  • Include an abstract of up to 150 words with 4-5 keywords
  • Use APA citation style (for Social Sciences) or ILI citation style (for Law research)
  • Tables should be in MS Office format, in black and white
  • Plagiarism must not exceed 10%
  • Work must be original and unpublished

Publication and fee

The PRIDE Journal is a peer-reviewed, refereed annual journal. There is no submission or publication fee. Accepted manuscripts go through a blind peer-review process that takes approximately 3-4 months.

Email your manuscript to pride.cts.uils@gmail.com in MS Word format, following the formatting and word-limit guidelines above. The submission deadline is 31 July 2026.
