Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Defence and a Navaratna company. It is India's premier professional electronics company, with its Bengaluru Complex housing the Central Services Division from which this recruitment is being made.

BEL has issued Advertisement No. 383/HR/CS/Rec/Legal/2025-26 dated 29.07.2026 inviting applications for one post of Probationary Legal Officer in grade E-II for the Central Services Division of its Bengaluru Complex, on a permanent basis.

The selected candidate will be inducted in the pay scale of Rs 40,000-3%-1,40,000, with a basic pay of Rs 40,000 per month.

In addition to basic pay, the remuneration package includes Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, 35% of the annual basic pay as perquisites, Performance Related Pay (PRP), Group Life Insurance, medical reimbursement, Provident Fund, NPS and gratuity, all as per the company's rules.

A full-time Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB / BL) from a recognised Indian University.

• General candidates must secure First Class in the LLB / BL.
• PwBD candidates must secure Pass Class in the LLB / BL.
• Candidates whose discipline or specialisation in the degree certificate does not tally with the discipline prescribed in the advertisement will not be considered for selection.
• Where marks are awarded on a CGPA or credit system, the candidate must attach the university's formula for conversion of CGPA / credits to a percentage.

The upper age limit is 25 years as on 01.07.2026 for candidates in the UR category.

• PwBD candidates with 40% or more disability get a relaxation of 10 years on the upper age limit.
• Ex-Servicemen get age relaxation as per Government guidelines.
• Where the date of birth is not available in the Matriculation or Higher Secondary certificate, a birth certificate issued by the competent authority will be considered.
• Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
• Where reservation is not available for a specific category, candidates may apply under the General category provided they meet the minimum eligibility criteria for General candidates as on 01.07.2026. OBC (NCL) / SC / ST candidates applying against the unreserved post are considered under the general standard of merit, with no relaxation other than the application fee exemption.

Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will be shortlisted for a Written Test. Those who qualify in the Written Test will be provisionally shortlisted for the Interview in the ratio of 1:5.

• Weightage: Written Test 85 marks, Interview 15 marks.
• Minimum qualifying mark: 35% for General candidates and 30% for PwBD candidates, separately in both the Written Test and the Interview.
• The venue of the Written Test is Bengaluru only. The exact date and time will be communicated to the e-mail ID furnished by the candidate.
• Outstation candidates called for the Interview are reimbursed to and fro rail fare by the shortest route, restricted to AC Chair Car or III Tier AC, on production of tickets.
• Lists of candidates shortlisted for the written test, interview and final selection are displayed in the Careers section of bel-india.in. There is no separate communication on non-selection.

The application fee is Rs 600 plus 18% GST. Candidates belonging to SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from payment.

• The fee must be remitted online through SBI Collect (corpID 14842).
• Select the payment category: Legal Officer (E-II) - On permanent Basis for Bengaluru Complex.
• Use the same mobile number and e-mail ID in SBI Collect as in the application form.
• Enter the SBI Collect Reference Number generated after payment in the application form, and attach a printed payment receipt.
• Any error in the application fee or any mismatch will result in disqualification. The fee is non-refundable. No cheque, DD or cash is accepted.

The application is offline. Download the prescribed application form published with the advertisement, fill it in and send it by post along with self-attested photocopies of the following:

• SSLC / SSC / 10th standard marks card as proof of date of birth
• LL.B / B.L degree certificate, with the CGPA to percentage conversion formula where applicable
• Final consolidated marks sheet and degree certificate. Where the final degree certificate is yet to be awarded, the final year mark sheet is mandatory, along with the provisional degree certificate if available
• Caste / Tribe / Disability certificate in the prescribed format for SC / ST / PwBD candidates
• Physical copy of the SBI Collect payment receipt
• Identity proof (Aadhaar / Driving Licence / Voter ID / Passport / PAN Card)
• Any additional certificates

The application must reach Manager (HR/CSG), Bharat Electronics Limited, Jalahalli Post, Bengaluru - 560 013 on or before 20 August 2026. The envelope must be superscribed "Application for the post of Probationary Legal Officer on Permanent Basis - BEL Bengaluru Complex".

• Applications received after the closing date, or that are incomplete, not in the prescribed format, not fulfilling the eligibility criteria or lacking the required enclosures, will be summarily rejected without assigning reasons. BEL is not liable for delay or loss in postal transit.
• No changes are permitted after submission of the application form. Requests for change of mailing address, e-mail ID, category or degree will not be entertained.
• Candidates already employed in BEL must give prior intimation to their SBU / Unit HR. Candidates employed in Central or State Government departments, PSUs or semi-government organisations must produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of the Interview.

• Any revision, clarification, addendum, corrigendum or time extension will be hosted in the Careers section of the BEL website, with no separate press notification.
• Canvassing in any form results in disqualification. Any dispute is subject to the sole jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru.
