Overview

Wolters Kluwer is hiring a Purchasing and Procurement Associate for its Global Business Services (GBS) Center of Excellence in Pune. If you enjoy the intersection of procurement operations and contract management, and you read commercial terms with a careful eye, this role lets you build that expertise inside a global information-services company.

You will rotate across procurement sub-functions, spending a minimum of three to six months on each so you can learn purchasing and the full contract lifecycle from the ground up. While a law degree is not a prerequisite, candidates with a legal background are given preference, which makes this a strong fit for law graduates who want to move into procurement and contracts.

This is a full-time, on-site role (three days a week from the Pune office) with shift flexibility to support Wolters Kluwer offices in other time zones.

About Wolters Kluwer

Wolters Kluwer is a global provider of professional information, software solutions, and services for the legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, finance, healthcare, and compliance sectors. The hiring entity for this role is Wolters Kluwer (India) Private Limited - GBS. The Center of Excellence, part of the company's Global Business Services divisions, supports worldwide sourcing and procurement activities, including deal support, the PR-to-PO process, reporting and analytics, contract management, tooling support and administration, and customer and buying-experience services.

The role

As the Associate, you will enable internal business partners to meet their contract-related accountabilities, maximise the benefit of each agreement, and keep contracts adapted to a changing status quo. Day to day, you can expect to:

  • Handle calendar planning and renewals
  • Work on transactions for an assigned sub-function such as procurement helpdesk, contract administration, procurement operations, sourcing support, or catalog management
  • Create contract records and route contracts for approvals and execution
  • Add and update metadata and alerts for contracts
  • Ensure timely approval and execution of contracts
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders on contract renewals and requisition review
  • Abstract and migrate contracts into the contract repository
  • Maintain business documents including the contract repository and supporting purchase documents
  • Contribute to SOPs and workflows for process documents
  • Manage ad hoc projects and queries related to contract search and analysis
  • Highlight and escalate roadblocks or bottlenecks, and contribute to process-improvement initiatives

Who can apply

Wolters Kluwer is looking for someone interested in learning the various aspects of procurement operations, with a knack for delivering an excellent customer experience to internal and external stakeholders. You should have:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in any discipline. A law degree is not a prerequisite, but candidates with a legal background are given preference.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of contract management experience, including managing internal and external relationships and collaborating with cross-functional, international stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience reading and understanding commercial contractual terms and conditions (necessary)
  • Hands-on experience with Coupa and/or alternative tools such as Icertis, Ariba, SAP, or Oracle
  • Experience with e-signature tools like Adobe Sign or DocuSign (preferred)
  • Strong analytical ability to solve problems and drive results, plus knowledge of procurement and customer-service processes
  • Strong process acumen, interpersonal and communication skills, and excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams) and relevant IT tools

Location, shifts and work mode

The role is based in Pune (Smartworks), Maharashtra, and is on-site, with candidates expected to work from the office three days a week. You should be flexible to work multiple shifts to support other Wolters Kluwer offices. The shift timings noted are:

  • 3:00 PM IST to 12:00 AM IST
  • 6:00 PM IST to 3:00 AM IST

Applicants may be required to appear on-site at a Wolters Kluwer office as part of the recruitment process.

A note on interviews

Wolters Kluwer asks all candidates to participate in interviews without the assistance of AI tools or external prompts. The process is designed to assess your individual skills, experience, and communication style, so the company asks candidates to remove virtual backgrounds and may include in-person interviews. Use of AI-generated responses or third-party support during interviews will be grounds for disqualification.
