The RCSL Working Group on Law and Popular Culture invites submissions for a workshop at the University of Strathclyde School of Law, Glasgow, on 3 and 4 September 2026. The workshop explores the relationship between representation, justice, and popular culture, examining how law and justice are represented, mediated, imagined, and challenged across contemporary popular culture.
The organisers are particularly keen to support PhD students and early career researchers, and welcome theoretical, empirical, methodological, and creative approaches, including work-in-progress papers.

The call is open to interdisciplinary scholars and researchers across the social sciences, humanities and legal studies. PhD students and early career researchers are especially encouraged to submit.
Submit an abstract of a maximum of 250 words via the official Microsoft Form. The closing date for abstract submissions is Friday, 10 July 2026.
The workshop runs on a break-even basis of GBP 50 per person to cover catering and organisational costs. A subsidised registration rate is available for PhD students and early career researchers.
