The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru invites applications for one full-time position of Research Assistant at the Chair on Consumer Law and Practice (CLAP), for an initial period of one year, extendable based on performance and project requirements. The position will be based at the NLSIU campus in Bengaluru.
The Research Assistant will work closely with the Chair Professor, faculty members and external stakeholders on the Chair's academic, policy and outreach activities.

The Chair on Consumer Law and Practice (CLAP) was established in August 2008 at NLSIU by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India. The Chair is the first dedicated academic initiative of its kind in India and serves as a national centre for research, teaching, training, policy engagement and capacity building in the field of consumer law and consumer protection.
It functions as a think tank on consumer policy issues and has contributed to legislative and regulatory developments, academic scholarship, judicial training and consumer awareness initiatives. The Chair also publishes the International Journal on Consumer Law and Practice (IJCLP) and the bi-annual newsletter March on Consumer Law and Practice.
The Chair undertakes research and policy work across diverse domains including consumer protection, e-commerce, digital markets, product safety, misleading advertisements, data protection, online dispute resolution, financial consumer protection, food and product regulation, standardisation and emerging consumer harms in the digital economy.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience and University norms. The call does not state a figure or a pay band.
