Research Assistant, DPIIT-IPR Chair at Chanakya National Law University, Patna (2 Posts, Rs 47,000-57,000/month)

Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna has issued Recruitment Notification No. 47/2026-27(Appt.) dated 14 July 2026, inviting applications for the post of Research Assistant under the DPIIT-IPR Chair at the University.

The Chair is established under the Scheme for Pedagogy and Research in IPRs for Holistic Education and Academia (SPRIHA), run by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. The posts sit with the Chair-related Centre for Innovation & IP Laws (CIIPL) at the University.

Two Research Assistant posts are advertised, on a contractual consolidated monthly salary basis. The fixed pay depends on the qualification held:

• Postgraduate (LLM-IPR) – 01 post: INR 57,000 per month
• LL.B. Graduate – 01 post: INR 47,000 per month

• Master's degree in law (IPR specialisation) or B.A., LL.B./LL.B. or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point scale where a grading system is followed) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• Good knowledge of the latest national and international research trends and developments in the field of IPR.
• Ability to conceptualise and organise academic programmes such as workshops, capacity building seminars, conferences and brainstorming sessions.
• Fluency in English and proficiency in computer knowledge (MS Office, AI-based activities, plagiarism software, and the like).

• Experience in teaching or research in IPR at premier law universities or colleges, and quality publications in the field of IPR.
• Excellent inter-personal and team building skills.
• Ability to innovate and improve research, training and extension activities or services, and to pursue new ideas and methods.

• Provide research assistance and conduct Intellectual Property Rights research in relevant areas of law as assigned.
• As per directions, develop, plan, execute and report IPR research in collaboration with external universities, institutions, government departments, industrial and economic agencies, and the judiciary within India and abroad.
• Participate in the overall planning and development of research, training and extension programmes under the DPIIT-IPR Chair.
• Perform any other duties, including administrative and coordination work, required to achieve the aims and objectives of the Centre for Innovation & IP Laws (CIIPL).
