Manipal Law School, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Bengaluru is inviting applications for a research internship tied to a short-term study on Gender, Informality, and Digital Platforms in India. If you are curious about how gender and the informal economy intersect with India's growing platform and gig economy, this is a chance to contribute to focused academic research while working largely on your own schedule.
The internship is predominantly remote, with scheduled discussions during the week, and runs for three months beginning 5 July 2026. Applications close on 1 July 2026.
Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is a private deemed-to-be university headquartered in Karnataka, with campuses in Manipal, Mangaluru, Bengaluru and Jamshedpur, as well as international campuses in Dubai and Malaysia. Manipal Law School operates under MAHE and offers undergraduate and postgraduate legal education along with active research programmes.
As a research intern you will support a short research study on gender, informality and digital platforms in India. The work is intended for candidates who want to contribute meaningfully to research in this area.
Flexibility regarding the internship timeframe may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
The internship is open to candidates interested in contributing to research work on gender, informality and digital platforms. Preference will be given to students of Sociology, Economics, and Public Policy.
There is no application fee. The internship itself is unpaid.
