The RRU Centre for International Law (RCIL), under the School of Criminal Law and Military Law at Rashtriya Raksha University (an Institution of National Importance), Gandhinagar, invites applications for two Research Officer positions in specialised areas of Public International Law. Both positions carry an opportunity to pursue a Ph.D. by Publication.

Positions

  • Research Officer (Public International Law & Peacekeeping) - 1 Post. For candidates with qualifications and experience in public international law and a demonstrated interest in peacekeeping operations and accountability for crimes committed against peacekeepers.
  • Research Officer (Law of the Sea) - 1 Post. For candidates with qualifications and experience in the law of the sea and a demonstrated interest in deep seabed mining and the BBNJ Agreement.

Remuneration

Consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs 55,000 to Rs 70,000. The engagement is on a contract of 364 days, extendable for two additional 364-day terms.

Eligibility

  • Master's degree in Public International Law, Maritime Law, or any allied field related to the above domains, with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
  • Minimum one year of teaching or research experience in a government body, international organisation, private body, or recognised research institution.
  • At least one publication in an internationally reputed or UGC-listed journal.
  • Desirable: NET/CSIR qualification, conference presentations, and proficiency in MS Office.

How to Apply

  • Attach one published research paper/article and a completed Research Score Calculation Sheet with supporting documents.
  • After completing the online registration, email an original research proposal (not exceeding two pages) on any one of the specified themes to the SCLML office at sclml@rru.ac.in.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to give a 5 to 7 minute presentation on a domain-specific topic.
