The Salgaocar Law Review E Journal is a blind peer reviewed annual law journal published by V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, Goa, from 2015 onwards under ISSN 2395-7263. It carries Original Research Articles, Essays, Case Comments, Legislative Comments and Book Reviews. The stated purpose of the publication is to encourage quality legal research and intellectual perceptions, and to sustain deliberation across a broad spectrum of contemporary legal issues.
The present call is for Volume XII, 2026. Every submission passes through blind peer review, and acceptance is subject to the report of the peer review team.
About V. M. Salgaocar College of Law
V. M. Salgaocar College of Law is run by the Devi Sharvani Education Society and is located at Miramar, Panjim, Goa 403 002. Alongside the Salgaocar Law Review E Journal, the college runs the Lex Infinitum international dispute resolution competition and the G. D. Kamat Moot Court Competition, and maintains a legal aid society and a doctoral programme.
Theme
The theme is open, but contributions must be of contemporary legal significance. No sub-themes are prescribed, so authors are free to choose any branch of law provided the paper speaks to a current legal question.
Who Can Submit
The call is addressed to academicians, lawyers and research students. Co-authorship is allowed, with a maximum of two authors per paper.
Categories and Word Limits
Word limits are inclusive of footnotes:
- Long Articles: 8,000 to 10,000 words
- Short Articles: 4,000 to 8,000 words
- Essays: 2,000 to 4,000 words
- Case Notes and Legislative Comments: 1,500 to 3,000 words
Book Reviews are also accepted as a category of contribution.
Formatting and Citation Guidelines
- All submissions must be in Microsoft Word format with a one inch margin on all sides.
- Main text in Times New Roman, font size 12, line spacing 1.5.
- Footnotes in Times New Roman, font size 10, single line spacing.
- Citations must conform to the Bluebook Uniform Style of Citation, 21st edition (2020).
Submission Conditions and Covering Letter
- All submissions must be the original and unpublished work of the author or authors, and must not have been submitted to, accepted by or published elsewhere.
- Papers found to be plagiarised will be summarily rejected.
- The manuscript must be accompanied by a covering letter stating the title of the paper and its category (Article, Essay, Case Comment, Legislative Comment or Book Review), and the name, occupation, designation, institution, email id, mobile number and contact address of each author.
- To preserve confidentiality for blind peer review, these author details must appear only on the cover page and nowhere else in the paper.
How to Submit and Fee
Email an abstract of 300 words with keywords along with the full paper to salgaocarlawreview@vmslaw.edu.in on or before the date specified in the timeline below. The covering letter must be sent with the manuscript.
The official call for papers does not state any submission, processing or publication fee.
