Virtuosity Legal invites you to Salt n Pepper, a rolling Call for Comics that puts the law in the frame and lets your pen do the arguing. If you can spot the irony in a courtroom, the contradiction in a policy, or the quiet absurdity in how justice plays out, this is your space to say it through satirical and editorial cartoons.
Virtuosity Legal is a peer-reviewed student-run legal platform with the tagline Substance. Authority. Insight. Salt n Pepper sits alongside its written scholarship as a creative outlet where socio-legal commentary meets visual storytelling. Selected comics are published on the platform with full artist credit, giving your work a real audience and a permanent home.
Virtuosity Legal was established in February 2025 and is run independently by students of the Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University, operating independently of the faculty and the university administration. It works under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Khalid Shamim and is steered by its co-founders Mahvish Fatima and Tanzeel Islam Khan, supported by a defined editorial and operations team.
The platform publishes original, well-researched legal analysis across constitutional law, criminal law, intellectual property, international law, technology law, case comments, jurisprudence, and commercial law. It follows a double-blind peer review process and values meaningful discourse over noise, which is the same spirit it brings to its creative initiatives like Salt n Pepper.
Salt n Pepper is looking for original satirical and editorial cartoons on socio-legal themes. Your comic should engage with ideas drawn from areas such as:
The goal is sharp, thoughtful visual commentary. Wit is welcome, but the work should still carry a point of view worth publishing on a serious legal platform.
Salt n Pepper is open to artists, law students, illustrators, and creative thinkers worldwide. You do not need to be enrolled in a law programme to take part, you only need a genuine engagement with socio-legal ideas and the skill to express them visually.
