Overview

The Society for Dignity Law and DEI Policy at The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata, invites submissions for the inaugural issue of its triannual newsletter, Volume I, Issue I. The newsletter is a platform for scholarship on dignity, diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.

If you write on dignity law, disability rights, gender, caste, or constitutional questions of inclusion, this is a chance to be part of the very first issue.

About the organiser

The Society for Dignity Law and DEI Policy is a student body at WBNUJS, Kolkata, one of India's leading National Law Universities. The Society works on dignity-centred law and on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policy.

Themes

Submissions are welcome on themes including, but not limited to:

  • Dignity Law
  • Disability Law
  • Gender Laws
  • LGBTQIA+ Rights
  • Women & Child Rights
  • Caste & Social Justice
  • Religion & Constitutional Rights

Categories and word limits

  • Short Articles: 1,100 to 1,500 words
  • Blogs: 600 to 1,000 words
  • Book Reviews: 800 to 1,200 words
  • Case Notes: 800 to 1,200 words
  • Major Legal and Policy Developments: 600 to 1,000 words

Word limits are exclusive of footnotes.

Who can submit

The call is open for original, unpublished, and well-researched submissions. Co-authorship is permitted up to a maximum of two authors.

Submission guidelines

  • Submissions must be original and unpublished.
  • Citations must follow the Harvard Bluebook (22nd Edition) format.
  • All submissions are subject to plagiarism and AI checks.
  • Co-authorship is limited to two authors.

Publication fee

There is no submission or publication fee mentioned for this newsletter.

Send your submission by email to sdldp@nujs.edu. Use the subject line in the format: <Title of the Article _ Author's Name>.

The deadline is 5 July 2026 (Sunday), 11:59 PM IST.
