About the Opportunity

The Airports Authority of India (AAI), a Government of India public sector enterprise constituted by an Act of Parliament and conferred Mini Ratna Category-I status, has invited online applications for the engagement of Senior Consultants in its Law Directorate on a contract basis under Advertisement No. 11/2026/CHQ/CN. AAI is entrusted with creating, upgrading, maintaining and managing civil aviation infrastructure on the ground and in the air space across the country.

The recruitment is being administered for AAI through EdCIL (India) Limited, a Government of India Mini Ratna Category-I CPSE under the Ministry of Education.

Positions and Remuneration

  • Post: Senior Consultant, Law Directorate (Post Code 01)
  • Vacancies: 05 in all, of which 04 are for AAI Corporate Headquarters, Safdarjung Airport, New Delhi and 01 is for the Regional Headquarters, Northern Region, Delhi
  • Monthly remuneration: Rs. 1,50,000/- per month, all inclusive
  • Upper age limit: 45 years
  • Experience required: 08-10 years of legal work experience

Charter of Duties

The Senior Consultants shall, among other things, be responsible for:

  • Conducting legal research on aviation laws, contracts, service matters, land acquisition, arbitration, and constitutional and administrative law
  • Preparing case briefs, notes and other documents pertaining to AAI's litigation
  • Liaising with and coordinating AAI's litigation before various courts and tribunals, and attending court hearings on behalf of AAI
  • Drafting, vetting and reviewing contracts, agreements, MoUs, affidavits, pleadings, written submissions, rejoinders, replies and notices, and processing professional fee bills of lawyers
  • Regular updation and maintenance of litigation and legal data on the AIMS (or any other designated) portal
  • Coordinating with departments, airports and corporate and regional offices of AAI to collect documents, reports, factual inputs and records for legal matters
  • Assisting in maintaining records of court orders, judgments, legal opinions, contracts and arbitration awards, and any other legal or litigation duties assigned by the RED (NR) and GM (Law), CHQ

Eligibility

  • A professional degree in Law, either a 3-year regular course after graduation or a 5-year integrated regular course after 10+2
  • The candidate must be eligible to enrol as an Advocate with the Bar Council of India to practise in courts in India
  • The qualification must be from a National Law University, a university established by an Act of the Central or State legislature, or an institution declared a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, recognised by the Bar Council of India
  • 08-10 years of legal work experience
  • Upper age limit of 45 years; the cut-off date for qualification, experience and age is 06.08.2026
  • Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply

Selection Process

Selection will be based on academic qualifications and experience, and will also include document verification and an interview. Preliminary shortlisting is based on the documents uploaded with the application form, and originals must be produced when called for document verification and interview. Call letters and other communication will be sent to shortlisted candidates by email only, so applicants must keep the e-mail id given in the online application active.

AAI has reserved the right to upgrade the eligibility criteria if a large number of applications are received, and no TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or selection process.

Terms of Engagement

The initial engagement is for a period of one year, extendable by one year at a time, with the total cumulative period not exceeding five years. Four Senior Consultants will be engaged purely for AAI Corporate Headquarters at Safdarjung Airport, New Delhi and one for the Regional Headquarters, Northern Region, Delhi.

Leave will be allowed at the rate of 1.5 days for each completed month of service. Unavailed leave in a calendar year cannot be carried forward to the next calendar year or encashed. AAI has reserved the right to cancel, modify, withdraw or postpone the engagement notice.
