If mooting is where you want to prove yourself, the Shri N.J. Yasaswy Memorial Moot Court Competition is one of the established names on the national circuit. Now in its 11th edition, it is hosted by The ICFAI Law School, IFHE, Hyderabad, and brings law teams from across India together for a full in-person contest of written memorials and oral advocacy.
The 2026 edition runs from 4 to 6 September at the ICFAI Law School campus in Hyderabad, carries a total prize pool of 2,00,000 rupees, and is open to three year and five year LL.B. students. Registration closes on 6 August 2026, with a discounted early bird window until 30 June 2026.
The ICFAI Law School is the law wing of the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), Hyderabad, a deemed to be university. The competition is held in memory of Shri N.J. Yasaswy, the founder of the ICFAI group of institutions.
The moot is run by the law school's moot court committee as its flagship advocacy event, and the 2026 edition marks its 11th year.
This is a memorial and oral advocacy moot. Each team argues both sides of the problem across written and oral stages.
The competition opens with the inaugural ceremony and researcher's test on 4 September 2026, followed by the oral rounds on 5 and 6 September 2026.
The competition is open to law students enrolled in a recognised LL.B. programme in India.
