Overview

Solventia, the Journal of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Laws, is inviting submissions for Volume III, Issue 2. The journal is published by National Law University, Jodhpur, and it describes itself as the first and only law journal in India dedicated entirely to insolvency and bankruptcy law. If you have been following the evolution of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, cross-border insolvency, or restructuring practice, this is a focused, peer-reviewed home for that work.

Submissions are free, the deadline is 31 July 2026, and accepted manuscripts go through a structured blind review before they appear in an indexed journal that carries a real e-ISSN. This is a genuine academic platform, not a pay-to-publish outlet.

About the journal

Solventia carries the e-ISSN 3108-2548 and is a bi-annual, double-blind peer-reviewed journal. It was established in 2023, with its first publication in 2024, and it is run out of National Law University, Jodhpur, one of India's premier national law universities.

The editorial leadership includes the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur, as Patron, with Dr. Anand Kumar Singh as Chief Editor and Mr. Sarthak Mishra as Managing Editor, supported by a named editorial and advisory board. The journal aims to advance research and scholarship on domestic and international insolvency and bankruptcy issues, encouraging both theoretical analysis and practical, policy-focused writing.

What you can submit

The journal welcomes work on insolvency and bankruptcy law and closely related legal and policy questions, including jurisdiction-specific themes and contemporary developments. You can submit in any of the following categories:

  • Long Articles: 6,000 to 8,000 words, exclusive of footnotes.
  • Short Articles: 3,000 to 6,000 words, exclusive of footnotes.
  • Case Notes and Book Reviews: 1,500 to 2,000 words, exclusive of footnotes.

Every manuscript must carry an abstract of not more than 200 words.

Who can apply

The call is open to experienced practitioners, academicians, and law students. Whether you are a student writing your first serious piece or a professional with years in restructuring and insolvency work, your submission will be assessed on merit through the same blind review.

A manuscript may be co-authored by a maximum of three authors.

Formatting and originality requirements

Please follow these requirements closely, since manuscripts that do not comply with the citation format are rejected at the initial review stage.

  • Citation style: OSCOLA (The Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities), 4th edition.
  • Footnotes: Use footnotes only. Substantive or speaking footnotes are discouraged except for definitions or clarifications.
  • Plagiarism limit: The permissible limit of plagiarism is 10 percent.
  • AI usage limit: The permissible use of Artificial Intelligence in drafting the manuscript is 15 percent.
  • File format: The manuscript must be a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx).
  • Originality: The work must be original, unpublished, and accompanied by the required declaration. Manuscripts exceeding the plagiarism or AI thresholds are automatically rejected.

Review process, copyright and fees

Submissions go through a three-stage blind peer review. The first stage is an initial review for relevance and formatting. The second stage is a detailed first edit with an opportunity for you to revise. The third stage is a final evaluation after your revisions.

On publication, the work becomes the property of National Law University, Jodhpur, and authors must obtain permission from Solventia for any subsequent publication of the same piece. The journal does not charge any fee at submission or for publication.

Submit your manuscript before 31 July 2026, 11:59 PM, through the official Google Form linked on the submission guidelines page.
