The Sunday Blog Post by University of Calcutta - Call for Blogs (Weekly, No Fee)

The Sunday Blog Post is a weekly call for blogs run by the Magazine Committee of the Department of Law, University of Calcutta, under its student publication 'The Muses'. Each week a fresh socio-legal theme is announced and undergraduate students are invited to respond with analytical essays, critical reflections, or reportage. The initiative is published on a rolling weekly basis, with a new theme and submission deadline released for each edition.

The Magazine Committee was established in 2019 to chronicle and showcase the diverse activities and achievements within the Department of Law, University of Calcutta. It publishes the annual magazine 'The Muses', written and edited by the students of the Department.

The theme for the current edition (closing 3 July 2026) is: "When Does the Pursuit of Excellence Become Obsession?" exploring the balance between healthy determination and excessive desire in the pursuit of success. As this is a weekly series, the theme changes for each new edition.

Open to any undergraduate student from any recognised college or university. You do not need to be a student of the University of Calcutta to contribute.

• Word limit: 450 to 500 words (analytical essays, critical reflections, or reportage).
• Languages accepted: English, Bengali, or Hindi.
• Font: Times New Roman (mandatory).
• File format: Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx).
• One author may make only one submission.
• Any article found to exceed 10% AI-generated content will be disqualified.
• Submissions must be accompanied by the author's College or University ID card (PDF or DOC) for verification.

There is no submission fee.
