About the organisers

The Centre for Sports Law and Policy (CSLP) is a research centre of The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata. It was set up in 2019 under the guidance of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Chakrabarti, and Prof. (Dr.) Lovely Dasgupta, who directs the Centre. CSLP works on contemporary sports law questions through a blog, a newsletter, primers and seminars, with the stated aim of building legal scholarship and policy thinking in a field that is still thinly covered in India.

Offside Legal is a New Delhi based sports law practice that describes itself as a source for lawyers, arbitrators, athletes and decision-makers in sport. Its work spans sports governance, arbitration, commercial contracts and intellectual property, and it runs a public sports law blog alongside its practice.

About the bootcamp

CSLP and Offside Legal are jointly running a two-day online Sports Law Bootcamp. The organisers describe it as a programme covering sports governance, anti-doping law, and sports contracts and intellectual property rights, taught by practitioners working in the field.

Offside Legal's own announcement of the bootcamp frames the coverage as sports governance, athlete rights and disputes, commercial contracts, and the dispute resolution mechanisms that sit behind them.

Dates, mode and format

  • Dates: 22 and 23 August 2026
  • Mode: online
  • Time commitment: three hours per day, split into two sessions of 1.5 hours each
  • Total: four sessions across the two days

The organisers have said that a detailed brochure and the speaker line-up will be released closer to the programme; the clock timings for each day had not been published at the time of writing.

Who it is for

Offside Legal's announcement describes the bootcamp as designed for students, legal practitioners, sports professionals and enthusiasts. The registration form asks each registrant for the name of their institute or organisation, and does not restrict entry to any one institution or year of study.

Certificate of participation

A certificate of participation is provided. The organisers state plainly on the registration form that attending all of the sessions is compulsory for the certificate, so partial attendance will not qualify.

Internship opportunity at Offside Legal

Participants who perform well over the four sessions will be offered an internship opportunity at Offside Legal. As with the certificate, attendance at every session is a condition. The registration form carries a required question asking whether you would be interested in an internship opportunity following the bootcamp, so indicate your interest there rather than writing in separately.

Fee

There is no fee. Registration runs entirely through the organisers' form, which carries no payment step and asks for no fee of any kind.

How to register

Register through the official Google Form, which is hosted on the WB National University of Juridical Sciences workspace. It asks for five things:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Name of your institute or organisation
  • Contact number
  • Whether you would be interested in an internship opportunity following the bootcamp

No closing date for registration has been announced. The form was accepting responses at the time of writing, but since the sessions begin on 22 August, register well before that date rather than counting on it staying open.
