UGC-MMTTC, Manipur University: Two-Week Multidisciplinary Refresher Course on Leadership, Academic Administration and Legal Excellence in Higher Education

The UGC Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), Manipur University, Canchipur, Imphal is organising a two-week multidisciplinary refresher course titled Leadership, Academic Administration and Legal Excellence in Higher Education. The programme focuses on strengthening leadership, managerial skill, and legal and professional excellence among officers and faculty members serving in higher education institutions (HEIs). A rescheduling notice issued by the University on 12 August 2026 fixes the revised dates as 15 to 28 September 2026.

• Foster leadership capabilities essential for managing academic and administrative responsibilities effectively.
• Equip participants with strategies to navigate the evolving challenges in the education sector.
• Enhance competencies in institutional administration through team building and employee motivation.
• Build working familiarity with legal regulations and management under the Fundamental Rules and Supplementary Rules (FRSR).
• Address the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and other critical aspects of higher education governance.

Two of the announced focus areas sit squarely in a law teacher's territory: legal regulations and management under the FRSR, which governs service conditions in publicly funded institutions, and the statutory and regulatory side of NEP 2020 implementation. Eligibility is also expressly opened to faculty and officers from HEIs under professional councils, and the Bar Council of India (BCI) is named in that list alongside AICTE, NMC, INC, PCI and ICAR, so teachers at BCI-approved law schools are within the intended participant pool.

• Faculty members and officers in Central, State and Deemed to be Universities, Private Universities, Institutions of National Importance, Colleges (Government / Aided / Private) and other higher education institutions.
• Contractual, ad-hoc and guest faculty, tutors and demonstrators in HEIs, wherever applicable.
• Faculty members and officers from HEIs under various Professional Councils, including AICTE, NMC, BCI, INC, PCI and ICAR.

The refresher course runs from 15 to 28 September 2026 and is conducted entirely in offline mode. The venue is the Manipur Institute of Management Studies (MIMS) on the Manipur University campus at Canchipur, Imphal. Participants should plan to be present on campus for the full two weeks.

There is no registration fee. Intake capacity is limited to 40 participants, and the notification states that selection is on a first come, first served basis. Lodging and food facilities will be provided on payment, so boarding costs are borne by the participant or the sponsoring institution.

Registration is through the official Google Form linked from the notification poster, which also carries a QR code pointing to the same form. The form is hosted inside Manipur University's own workspace and asks for the participant's name, date of birth, mobile and WhatsApp numbers, address with district, PIN code and State/UT, university, institution or college name, and designation. A Google sign-in is required because the form records the responding email address and accepts file uploads.

• A valid identity card issued by the competent authority of your university, college or institute, as a PDF or image upload.
• A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Head of Department or employer permitting participation in the programme, again as a PDF or image upload.
• Both uploads are mandatory fields, so the NOC in particular should be arranged well before the 10 September 2026 closing date.
