Virtual Internship Programme (October-November 2026) at Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Singapore (Unpaid, Online)

The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) is one of the world's leading arbitral institutions, administering international commercial arbitrations from Singapore. Its Secretariat handles case administration and institutional work across a global caseload, and SIAC also runs overseas offices covering the Americas, China, North East Asia and South Asia.

SIAC is accepting applications for the SIAC Virtual Internship Programme. The programme gives participants insight into the workings of a leading global arbitral institution and a deeper understanding of the role and functions of the Secretariat, delivered through a virtual learning environment.

During the internship you contribute to SIAC's work, including assisting the Secretariat with research projects on various topics. You also work on mock cases inspired by real-life SIAC cases and receive feedback from members of the Secretariat. The programme is open to local and overseas candidates.

• Fixed period of two months, on a part-time basis
• Commitment of 10 hours of work each week, unless otherwise agreed
• Term schedule: October to November 2026
• Applicants must indicate, as specifically as possible, their period of availability and their preferred dates

The internship is not remunerated.

This programme is offered only to students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate programme. The internship is conducted in a virtual format and is administered from Singapore.

Applicants are required to ensure that they have complied with their university's or college's policies and the relevant government regulations, if any, to undertake this virtual internship from their current country of residence and other relevant jurisdictions.

• Copies of college/university and/or postgraduate transcripts (PDF, up to 5 files)
• Statement of interest describing your objectives and motivation in applying for the programme (one page, one document)
• A letter issued by your college/university confirming that you are accepted to or enrolled with the institution, and that your participation in SIAC's virtual internship programme does not violate the university's policies and the relevant government regulations, if any, of your current country of residence and other relevant jurisdictions. This support letter is a mandatory requirement for the Virtual Internship Programme, should be on official university letterhead and signed by an authorised representative such as the Dean, Registrar or International Office

Where a writing sample is submitted, SIAC advises that it should ideally be on a topic related to international law, international arbitration or commercial dispute resolution, reflect your own independent analysis, and be an original piece of work. A lightly edited or abridged version of a longer work is acceptable provided it remains coherent and self-contained. If the sample was co-authored, indicate your specific contribution in a brief cover note.

Applications are submitted through SIAC's online application form for the Virtual Programme 2026. The form asks for your name, email address, country of residence, highest level of study, whether you are obtaining or hold a law degree, your current law school, expected year of graduation, and your current GPA together with the maximum GPA achievable, along with the supporting documents listed above.

Candidates may apply to more than one SIAC programme at the same time. Applications are reviewed alongside those of other applicants for the same programme.

The closing date for applications is 15 August 2026. Only successful candidates will be notified.
